Welcome to the Spider-Man work group of the Comics WikiProject!

Scope

This task force/work group deals specifically with the characters, publications, storylines, locales, and, to a lesser extent, creators of comics related to Spider-Man, as well as these characters, etc., appearances in other media. This work group also include articles about actors, directors and film makers, but relies on WikiProject Biography for standards in that area.

Goals

• To standardize the film/television articles related to Spider-Man in Wikipedia.
• To improve Wikipedia coverage of Spider-Man by adding, expanding and improving related articles
• To serve as a central point of discussion for issues related to Spider-Man articles

Articles to be assessed

1. Need to go through all Spider-Man related articles and assess their quality and importance.

Resources

Good databases:

• Grand Comic-Book Database - good breadth and depth. Templates: {{gcdb}} and {{gcdb series}}
• Comic Book DB - similar good coverage with a cleaner and more accessible front end. Template: {{comicbookdb}}
• Big Comic Book DataBase - useful as a back-up but coverage isn't as wide but it may be deeper for some titles
• CBDB - another option but a bit less user-friendly
• UXN - a fairly comprehensive database in regards to X-men related books. Full synopsizes, character biographies, and creator information.

Useful for news, reviews and interviews:

• Newsarama - good for news updates and announcements as well as interviews
• Comic Book Resources - ditto
• Comics Bulletin
• Broken Frontier - can be another useful source for reviews
