Welcome to the WikiProject Computing Collaboration Department page!

The project's Collaboration department seeks to identify particular articles that would benefit from a significant collaborative effort. A single article is selected as the focus, and the project works to improve it, particularly to good article standards, and potentially featured article standards.

Users can also request help improving articles they come across here.

Nominations for future collaboration[edit]

Active Directory
Nominator's rationale: An important, complex topic in Windows networks. Undersourced and needs copy editing. C-class. --Pnm (talk) 02:03, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
BASIC
Nominator's rationale: Historical appeal. Needs sourcing and copy editing. Former good article. C-class. --Pnm (talk) 02:03, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Dvorak Awards and related articles
Nominator's rationale: Dvorak Awards is completely unsourced, but something that I imagine had ample coverage when it was active from 1992 to 1997. The recipients are likely to be both significant and interesting topics. (Recipient Chuck Forsberg, inventor of ZMODEM was recently the subject of an Afd nomination.) Stub-class.
Brute force attack
Nominator's rationale: Former good article that needs expansion, referencing, and cleanup to get quality back up. C-class. --Pnm (talk) 14:50, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Data warehouse
Nominator's rationale: An important topic in IT needs sourcing, expansion, and cleanup. Start-class. --Pnm (talk) 02:03, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Database administrator
Nominator's rationale: A neat cultural topic. Seems like a potentially fun article. Notability needs to be established (it's currently a merge candidate). Stub. --Pnm (talk) 02:03, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Information appliance
Nominator's rationale: Parent topic to computer. Could provide a beneficial overview if filled out more thoroughly. Start-class. --Pnm (talk) 02:03, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Kernel (computing)
Nominator's rationale: Fundamental. Former good article and former featured article candidate. Article in French Wikipedia is FA. Needs referencing and cleanup, but certainly in good shape. B-class. --Pnm (talk) 14:50, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Macintosh
Nominator's rationale: Broad historical appeal and a former featured article. B-class. --Pnm (talk) 14:50, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Microsoft Windows
Nominator's rationale: An important article with wide appeal. Former good article. Listed as B-class. --Pnm (talk) 02:03, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Moore's law
Nominator's rationale: Fundamental and a former good article. Listed as B-class. --Pnm (talk) 02:03, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Open Journal Systems
Nominated by: MahaPanta, 25 September 2008
RISC OS
Nominator's rationale: Increasing interest in subject, primarily due to the Cortex-A8 port now running on the BeagleBoard and AI Touch Book. Article listed as having multiple issues. Collaboration to improve it could help kickstart WikiProject RISC OS. --trevj (talk) 06:58, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
System software
Nominator's rationale: Basic concept that will help provide context for many other articles. Stub. --Pnm (talk) 14:50, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Voice over IP
Nominator's rationale: Article is popular with visitors but needs editing, content curating, restructuring, and referencing. C-class. --Pnm (talk) 22:13, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
