- This WikiProject aims to enhance information on geology.
[edit] Scope
- All articles included in the Category:Geology technically fall within the scope of this project. We acknowledge and are grateful for the efforts of other projects dealing with specific areas of geology, such as Wikipedia:WikiProject Volcanoes, and will focus this project's attention primarily on those articles which do not fall within the scope of any of these related projects.

The project-wide recent changes list is a good resource for looking at which articles are being edited, working collaboratively, and reverting vandalism.
[edit] Open tasks and guidelines
- Tag the talk pages of all articles with which this project will directly deal with the {{WikiProject Geology}} banner.
- Tag the talk pages of any new articles with {{WikiProject Geology}} so can be automatically added to the articles page.
- Add |needs-infobox=yes and |attention=yes to the tag template as needed.
- Monitor Category:Geology articles needing infoboxes and Category:Geology articles needing attention.
- Monitor the list of recent changes to pages within Wikiproject Geology.
- See Wikipedia:Guide to writing better articles.
- Get Volcanism of Hawaii to Featured Topic status.

An article's assessment is generated from the class and importance parameters and helps organise relevant articles for improvement. When assessed, the class and importance parameters are filled in, like this:
