Wikipedia:WikiProject Hospitals/Assessment

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search

Welcome to the assessment department of WikiProject Hospitals! This department focuses on assessing the quality of Wikipedia's Hospital articles. While much of the work is done in conjunction with the WP:1.0 program, the article ratings are also used within the project itself to aid in recognizing excellent contributions and identifying topics in need of further work.

Category:Hospital articles by quality serves as the foundation for an automatically generated worklist. The ratings are done in a distributed fashion through parameters in the {{WikiProject Hospitals}} project banner. Filling in a rating in the class parameter of the {{WikiProject Hospitals}} template on the talk page of an article causes the name of that article to be placed in the appropriate sub-categories of Category:Hospital articles by quality.

Frequently asked questions[edit]

How can I get my article rated?
First, make sure that the article is actually within the scope of the project (see below). If it is, you can list it in the requesting an assessment section below.
Who can assess articles?
Any member of WikiProject Hospitals is free to add—or change—the rating of an article, but please follow the guidelines.
Why didn't the reviewer leave any comments?
Unfortunately, due to the volume of articles that need to be assessed, we are unable to leave detailed comments in most cases. If you have particular questions, you might ask the person who assessed the article; they will usually be happy to provide you with their reasoning.
Where can I get more comments about my article?
Contact WikiProject Hospitals who will handle it or assign the issue to someone.
What if I don't agree with a rating?
Relist it as a request or contact the project.
Aren't the ratings subjective?
Yes, they are (see, in particular, the disclaimers on the importance scale), but it's the best system we've been able to devise; if you have a better idea, please don't hesitate to let us know!

If you have any other questions not listed here, please feel free to ask on the discussion page for this department, or to contact the WikiProject Hospitals directly.

Instructions[edit]

An article's quality assessment is generated from the class parameter in the {{WikiProject Hospitals}} project banner on its talk page:

{{WikiProject Hospitals|class=???}}

The following values may be used for the class parameter to describe the quality of the article (see Wikipedia:Quality scale for assessment criteria):

FA (for featured articles only; adds articles to Category:FA-Class Hospital articles) Featured article FA
A (adds articles to Category:A-Class Hospital articles) A-Class article A
GA (for good articles only; adds articles to Category:GA-Class Hospital articles)  GA
B (adds articles to Category:B-Class Hospital articles) B-Class article B
C (adds articles to Category:C-Class Hospital articles) C-Class article C

For pages that are not articles, the following values can also be used for the class parameter:

Category (for categories; adds pages to Category:Category-Class Hospital articles) Category page Category
Disambig (for disambiguation pages; adds pages to Category:Disambig-Class Hospital articles) Disambiguation page Disambig
File (for files; adds pages to Category:File-Class Hospital articles)  File

NA (for any other pages where assessment is unnecessary; adds pages to Category:NA-Class Hospital articles)  NA
??? (articles for which a valid class has not yet been provided are listed in Category:Unassessed Hospital articles)  ???

An article's importance assessment is generated from the importance parameter in the {{WikiProject Hospitals}} project banner on its talk page:

{{WikiProject Hospitals|importance=???}}

The following values may be used for the importance parameter to describe the relative importance of the article within the project:

Top (adds articles to Category:Top-importance Hospital articles)  Top
High (adds articles to Category:High-importance Hospital articles)  High
Mid (adds articles to Category:Mid-importance Hospital articles)  Mid
Low (adds articles to Category:Low-importance Hospital articles)  Low
NA (adds articles to Category:NA-importance Hospital articles)  NA
??? (articles for which a valid importance rating has not yet been provided are listed in Category:Unknown-importance Hospital articles  ???

The importance parameter should be assigned according to the importance scale below.

Assessment log[edit]

The logs in this section are generated automatically (on a daily basis); please don't add entries to them by hand.

This log records all changes since the last run. Unexpected changes, such as downgrading an article, or raising it more than two assessment classes at once, are shown in bold. The maximum size of the log file is approximately 100,000 bytes. Daily changes will be appended to the log until it reaches 100k, at which point the oldest entries will be overwritten. If the current run will be larger than 100k, it will split the update into multiple parts, and the next day's log will start from scratch.

The raw log can be viewed here :Wikipedia:Version_1.0_Editorial_Team/Hospital_articles_by_quality_log, along with a historical record of ALL updates. To run an update manually, click here.
