Goals

• Develop and maintain alphabetical indexes.
• Develop standards for indexes.

Project scope

• This project covers all alphabetical index articles on Wikipedia, and all links leading to them.

Members

Active members of WikiProject Indexes should:

1. Place their user name on the list of active members below.
2. Place one of the following Wikitext expressions on their user page.

Each of the expressions above will display the userbox shown and will add the user page to Category:WikiProject Indexes members.

Tasks

Add links to all indexes to the index list

The index list is called Portal:Contents/Index.

Fix TOCs

Many index pages have sections that don't show up on their tables of contents (TOCs).

These need to be fixed using a TOC template. {{compactTOC8}} works great for this.

The hunt for index pages that aren't called "Index of"

They hide in two ways:

1. By not being included in Portal:Contents/Index, or
2. By not having "Index of" in their titles

When you find them, please add them to the list below.

Those marked renamed have been renamed. Those marked placed have been added to Portal:Contents/Index.
