Welcome to WikiProject Podcasting, a collaboration area and group of editors dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of podcasting. For more information on WikiProjects, please see Wikipedia:WikiProject and the Guide to WikiProjects.
Wikiproject Podcasting is a WikiProject dedicated to making Wikipedia's knowledge of notable podcast and podcast-related information as complete as possible. We're also here to keep Wikipedia's podcasting articles free of WP:NPOV and WP:NOR issues, and ensure that all podcasts meet WP:WEB notability requirements.

[edit] Current goals
- Create notability and assessment requirements - consensus needs to be reached in order to properly edit existing articles and create new articles. See discussion regarding both topics on the project talk page.
[edit] Future goals
- Review all articles for notability and quality - once agreement is reached on notability and assessment, articles need to be reviewed for compliance.
- Improve existing articles - many existing articles lack quality and content. Once articles are reviewed for notability and quality, efforts should be made to improve content.
- Add new articles - Many notable podcasts are not yet included on Wikipedia. Review should be done to determine where content may need to be added.
- Tag articles for inclusion in project - tag the talk pages of podcast-related articles to ensure inclusion in the project.
- Promote general podcasting articles to Good Article status - with the goal of eventually making them Featured Articles.

- There are currently no guidelines for style of podcast articles.

- There are currently no guidelines for style of podcasting technology articles.

Shows must meet WP:WEB criteria, which covers a broad range of content including webcomics, podcasts, blogs, Internet forums, online magazines and other media, web portals and web hosts. See WP:WEB for full details. Please note that primary sources alone are not sufficient to establish notability - reliable independent third parties must be cited.
A podcast show notability proposal was raised, but did not achieve concensus with the community. An archive is available here.

Shows may use both audio and video categories, provided separate audio and video episodes are available (eg a video show should not also use the audio category just because there is audio within the video episode).
