The English language Wikipedia was started in 2001, and the main biographical article Swami Vivekananda was started on 23 March 2002. The article Ramakrishna was started on 6 January 2004. The year 2013 is celebrated as the 150th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. During this year many new articles have been written and existing articles expanded. On 24 September 2013, the article Swami Vivekananda became a good article. And right after this achievement, this WikiProject has been created.

Unlike all or most of the WikiProjects, we do not have a "Members" list here, because— a) we have noticed a good number of WikiProject members lists are full of inactive members' names, b) we want to highlight the project, not any particular member.
If you want to participate, you do not need to add your name anywhere, just start editing. Be assured, your work is being monitored and will surely be acknowledged and applauded. Face-smile.svg
