Wikipedia:WikiProject Universities
| This is a WikiProject, an area for focused collaboration among Wikipedians. |
WikiProject Universities aims to improve the coverage of universities and colleges on Wikipedia. Please feel free to join our project by adding your name at the List of participants and including this page on your watchlist.
[edit] About the project
[edit] Goals
- Standardize the structure and content of all college and university articles
- Represent the interests of colleges and universities and ensure their articles' compliance with Wikipedia's five pillars
- Improve the coverage of university articles, propelling them to featured article status
- Serve as the central resource for all discussions and information related to colleges and universities
[edit] Task forces and sub-projects
Task forces are meant to provide centralized information and a discussion area for topics that have a sufficiently large scope, but that would not benefit from having a separate WikiProject with all of the additional work that would involve. Currently, the only task force is Student Affairs task force.
Geographic areas, athletic conferences, or individual institutions with multiple pages and the interest of several active Wikipedians may become the subject of a sub-project. Propose the new project on the WikiProject Universities talk page or at the WikiProject Council to make sure there is enough interest before starting a new project. See the related projects section for examples.
[edit] National differences
University and college systems vary to a great degree between different countries. Here are some good practice-adaptations of WikiProject Universities for different countries:

[edit] Peer review
- Union College has received a complete overhaul. Review of the rewrite would be very much appreciated. upstateNYer 01:03, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
- University of Valle: I've been working in this article, and I would like to see it promoted to FA status. For that, I would like suggestions to improve it. Thanks Andremun (talk) 03:19, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
- Richard Stockton College of NJ Over time I have continued to bulk up with the maximum amount of reputable information I could find. Help from an editor with more experience would be greatly appreciated and welcomed. Please & Thank You! tallguy0187(talk) 16:06, 09 February 2010 (UTC)
- Wheeling Jesuit University has received considerable changes since its stub rating in '07. A review or promotion would be much appreciared. ABAsite (talk) 15:50, 09 March 2010
- Jordan University of Science and Technology: An outside opinion on this article, a reassessment of it's status, and suggestions for improvement would be very much appreciated. Thank you. Ymousa (talk) 12:30, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
- University of New South Wales has not been reviewed for three years. Could we have it reviewed so that I know where to start improving it? Tim Bennett (talk) 06:07, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
- Griffith University: Would like some assistance in improving this page and its content. Could we review it and help me improve it? JonathanMecha3 (talk) 01:51, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
- Maharishi University of Management. I wonder if we could have an outside neutral eye look at this article. Weight seems to be more towards the pejorative than in other articles on university articles I've looked at. For example, the section on the research and NIH grants is far smaller than the section on negative responses to the research and university. As the article expands an outside eye may help determine what kind of content and how much should be added. Thanks very much for the look.(olive (talk) 01:47, 16 December 2010 (UTC))
- Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode has not been reviewed. A review would be appreciated. Thank You. Shekure (talk) 10:46, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
- Eastern Michigan University: I would love a peer review of this page. I have put in a lot of work and have tried to model the page after several featured university articles. I could really used some advice on direction. I've added a section for feedback on Talk:Eastern Michigan University#Request for Feedback Pwojdacz (talk) 05:23, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- Gloucester County College: I would greatly appreciate a peer review of this page, including advice for improvements and a possible promotion from stub-class to start-class. Thanks very much! Allens (talk) 05:39, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
