Welcome to the WikiProject page for The University of Texas at Austin. This page is designed to streamline collaborative efforts to improve the quality of UT Austin-related articles. We are currently overhauling this project and its accompanying project page (as you may notice below), but that just means it's a great time for you to get involved! Never-ending things to do:

  1. Enlist (invite) more members
  2. Help GAs reach FA status
  3. Expand WP:UT stub articles
  4. Help maintain Portal:University of Texas at Austin and bring it to Featured portal status

Specific things that need attention:

  1. First thing's first: the flagship article (UT Austin) needs to get back to GA status
  2. Help transfer names into tables on List of University of Texas at Austin alumni and List of University of Texas at Austin faculty

New Articles:

  1. Create a main article about the Charles Whitman tower shooting.
    1. Discussion found here
  2. Create a main article about the main campus (Ex.: Campus of Texas A&M University).
    1. When started, replace "See also: List of University of Texas at Austin buildings" at the beginning of the Campus section and add it to a section highlighting notable buildings on the future dedicated campus page.
  3. Try to incorporate links in the See also section into article body.

  • Help others catch the UT Austin-article-improvement fever by awarding those who make special, dedicated efforts to improve UT Austin articles
  • Assist in acquiring more Wiki-usable pictures and images related to UT Austin—adding Flickr images to Wikipedia (like "UT Austin"; be sure to include the appropriate "Attribution" or "Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0" license) is a great way to start
  • Label UT Austin-related articles with the appropriate template (see templates to the left)
