MEGA MAN TASK FORCE

Objectives[edit]

Mega Man Task Force[edit]

This is the home of the Mega Man Task Force, a task force working under the umbrella of WikiProject Video games. The aim of this task force is to organise, expand, clean up and improve articles relating to the Capcom's Mega Man franchise. This includes the original Mega Man series, Mega Man X series, and other spin-offs. If you would like to participate, you can simply start by joining the project below and/or contribute to the discussion on the talk page. Be sure to also check out the to-do list for some of the project's ongoing tasks.

To indicate that an article falls within the scope of this task force, simply add "|MegaMan=yes" to the {{WikiProject Video games}} template on the article's discussion page. For example, {{WikiProject Video games|MegaMan=yes}}.

Goals[edit]

  • To create well-written and properly organized encyclopedic coverage for all relevant video games, novels, characters and other notable concepts within the Mega Man series
  • To create a consistent style for Mega Man articles and related topics
  • To steamline navigation between Mega Man articles
  • To be a community of editors who like to focus on the improvement of articles relating to Mega Man
  • To indicate articles in need of improvement using our "to do" list

Scope[edit]

  • This task force aims primarily to improve and organize articles relating to the Mega Man series. It attempts to organise and coordinate the efforts of editors and create standards for constructing good articles.
  • Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a fan site. Accordingly, we do not need articles that can be considered "fancruft", or of an inappropriate level of detail. Our criteria for inclusion, as it is on the rest of Wikipedia, is notability in the real world, not in the subject itself.

Guidelines[edit]

For more details on this topic, see the video game article guidelines

Besides the usual policies and guidelines, please make sure you are aware of the specific guidelines related to computer and video game-related articles. Also ensure that you are familiar with the following topics:

  1. The five pillars of Wikipedia: A quick rundown of the five key rules you need to start editing.
  2. Notability guideline: Notability defines inclusion on Wikipedia.
  3. Writing about fiction: A guide on how to properly present articles covering fictional concepts.
  4. Simplified ruleset: Fifteen rules of thumb to help you avoid problems.
  5. List of policies: A comprehensive list of the 42 official policies with very quick summaries.

Participants[edit]

This is a list of Wikipedia members active in the task force, who have edited a Mega Man article at least once within the last six months. If you want to join, simply add yourself to the roster by signing the bottom of the list with four tildes (~~~~). OR you can the infobox "Template:User MMTF" (userbox you see on the right) and type that into the top of your user page and your name will automatically be added. . Template:User MMTF
