I disagree with "Bluelinks should also be used once per topic, per article and should ideally be spread as evenly as possible through the text.". I know this is widely accepted. But, it's taken to far. Readers should not be expected to read every word of an article. They should be able to read just one or two sections. When they do this, they should still have a useful link available, when encountering a term for the first time ("first" to them). I don't like repeat links, within the same section of prose. But, we should keep in mind how enormous many articles are, and be realistic about what people will actually see. --Rob 10:18, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I fully agree, and nobody is going to argue against any solid editor using their judgement. Goes with WP:IAR. But when less experienced ed's start filling pages with as many links as possible, it's nice to be able to point them to this guideline. Deizio 11:30, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
