Kagoshima article is a mess[edit]

Would anyone care to clean-up the article on Kagoshima? At present, it doesn't even have a lead section. It is very queerly arranged. RGloucester 03:46, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

Looks like some cleanup has been done. It could still use some expansion of the lead section to properly summarize the content of the article. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 17:13, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Translation into Japanese: help please.[edit]

I'm Wikipedian in Residence at ORCID and a Japanese contact, who is not a Wikipedian, is doing ORCID outreach work there, which will benefit Wikipedia, as explained at WP:ORCID. The Japanese template ja:Template:Normdaten currently relies on a link to the English-language article on ORCID. Could somebody assist by translating that article, and placing it on the Japanese Wikipedia, please? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:15, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

Hi Andy, has anyone contacted you regarding this? I would be able to put together something, but I want to make sure nobody else has started it first. AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 05:32, 18 February 2015 (UTC)
@Pigsonthewing: oops, I forgot to include a ping. AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 07:59, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
@Athomeinkobe: Thank you; but no-one has. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 09:03, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Real name?[edit]

Hello Japanese language speakers. Is 久等紫遠 a name? Hisa-to Shion (according to google translate)? And 夢虚ズバット春眠 translation would be "Yumekyo Zubat Shunmin", is that correct? One last question, the first character from this image, I can't find it, please help! --Ssatto576 (talk) 16:58, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

@Ssatto576: Well the image says 著作 (chosaku). ミーラー強斗武 (StG88ぬ会話) 18:20, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. :) --Ssatto576 (talk) 01:59, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
These are the names of assistant game developers, right? The answer is, no, they are fake names and there is no way to tell how the person pronounces them. I think I got in trouble for saying that last time somebody asked about the names of game staff members, but really there is no way to tell except to ask the person. That said, Hisato Shien is one guess. Yumekyo is a guess, or Mukyo. It could be Shunmin or Harune (Spring sleep). 夢虚春眠 has been on the staff of a couple of other games, so that's probably his or her normal pseudonym. The ズバット part may be a reference to List of Pokémon (1–51)#Zubat or the ordinary word, meaning roughly "presto". – Margin1522 (talk) 04:52, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
Yes, crazy developer names. There's a site who has "久等紫遠 / Kurashiwon", so I'll use "Kurashiwon". About "Zubat", there's also Kaiketsu Zubat. Oh well, thanks a lot for your message! --Ssatto576 (talk) 05:42, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

BLP issue over at the A&M wikiproject[edit]

Link: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Anime and manga#BLP Problem There is a big problem regarding BLP articles in our project. It would be helpful if someone who understands Japanese to go through the BLP articles. Right now per WP:BLP to avoid WP:HARM I feel it would be better to delete many of the BLP articles rather than keeping them needing more sources for years. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 15:51, 1 March 2015 (UTC)

Vital articles and the Core Contest[edit]

This is a list of Japan-related vital articles, based on the linked lists. If you are looking for something to do, these articles are a good place to start. They are marked with the current class of the article (start, B, C, etc.) People are listed alphabetically by family name. This is part of the Wikipedia:The Core Contest, so any help is appreciated. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 05:22, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

Confirming kanji of Kenji Goto's wife[edit]

I did internet searching and I think the kanji of Rinko Jogo, Kenji Goto's wife, is 城後倫子. But I want to make sure this is the case. Does anyone know an RS which would confirm this?

I got the Huffington Post as proof of Goto's mother's kanji.
