Regarding the Israeli flag icon[edit]

This is a navigation box that directs users to WikiProjects relating to Jewish topics. WikiProject Israel is explicitly included in this, as is Zionism-related topics. It is entirely inappropriate to remove the Israeli flag on grounds that it does not relate to Judaism - as that statement completely untrue for a large segment (if not the majority) of the Jewish population (not to mention the fact that it is clearly relevant to this template). --DLand ^TALK 15:49, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That statement is only true for a certain dwindling segment of the population, those who identify with the historically recent secular philosophy of Zionism. But there are vast numbers of Jews who don't. --Yehoishophot Oliver 19:43, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disregarding the boatload of POV in that statement, the fact that there are vast numbers of Jews who do hold of Zionism makes inclusion of the symbol (and everything it represents) imperative.
