Early Swedish flag[edit]

Ever since this edit to flag of Sweden in 2007, it's been accepted as established fact that the Swedish state and war ensign was a double-tailed flag until 1663. It was even used for {{flagicon}} for anything relating to Sweden c. 1562-1663 until I questioned it recently. As far as I can tell, there seems to be no evidence of any "official" standardized flags as early as the 16th century. Since this particular statement has been accepted for over seven years, I'm asking for more input on the matter at talk:flag of Sweden#Double tail needs support.

Comments on merger[edit]

You are welcome to comment in Talk:Kristineberg, Malmö kommun about a proposed merger. --IRISZOOM (talk) 04:44, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

Yes, it should definitely be merged to Kristineberg, Malmö. Also, the term kommun should not be used for disambiguation of Swedish articles on English Wikipedia, since the English-language term is municipality, such as Malmö Municipality. Tomas e (talk) 14:32, 22 September 2014 (UTC)
I noticed your proposal too and I merged them for two days ago. I agree with you on the title and it's consistent with the rest of the articles about localities in the municipality. --IRISZOOM (talk) 01:59, 11 October 2014 (UTC)

Scanian regionalist POV[edit]

I'd like to alert members of the project of the activities of Boeing720. I've had disputes with the user over articles like Swedish language, Scanian dialect, South Swedish dialects and Skåneland. Not many other users have chimed in, but all have so far agreed that Boeing is relying on personal reflections rather than reliable sources.

The user has also recently been editing Scania with unsubstantiated claims[1] that "[a]ll television channels [...] are controlled or aired from Stockholm, and so also radio and most newspapers" and that "the uprising of many small political parties [...] has been a typical Scanian sign". The jist of most edits is that Scania is utterly unique and separate from Sweden as a whole.

By just browsing, I notice that there has also been multiple problems with bad spelling, unencyclopedic writing, unorthodox ideas about article structure, and several other issues. Worth looking ínto for those who have the time and inclination to do so. Tomas e (talk) 14:36, 22 September 2014 (UTC)

Can somebody please populate Category:Swedish sports broadcasters and Category:Swedish sports journalists and connect to cats on Swedish wiki?♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:00, 27 September 2014 (UTC)

I've linked them their Swedish counterparts via Wikidata. Tomas e (talk) 13:31, 29 September 2014 (UTC)

Felicia´s svenska suite[edit]

The current spelling in article title includes an aprostrophe that seems to be in the album cover title as well. But elsewhere the title seems to be spelt without an aprostrophe (which according to Norwegian grammar would be grammatically correct). Do you have any opinion on what is the correct title here? Iselilja (talk) 17:56, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

Proper current-day Swedish would be without the apostrophe, but it's not unheard of to see it used anyway, both in the present day (as an "English disease") and in 100+ years old Swedish texts. If Cornelis (or his record company) used that form of writing, it seems natural that the article also should, this being a proper name and a type of name where some artistic license may be exercised. I added a redirect from the name form without apostrophe, by the way. Tomas e (talk) 07:57, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

Comment on the WikiProject X proposal[edit]

Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:48, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

"Swedish Landrace"[edit]

FYI, the usage of "Swedish Landrace" is up for discussion, see Talk:Dutch Landrace -- (talk) 06:35, 3 October 2014 (UTC)

Are the urban areas duplicated here?[edit]

I wrote about this here eight months ago and I still think the same. Your views are welcome.

In the Swedish Wikipedia, there are no separate articles for the ones about Gothenburg and Malmö but Stockholm do have it (sv:Stockholm and sv:Stockholm (tätort)), which makes it more unclear. These are the articles:

Compare with:

See List of urban areas in Sweden and List of urban areas in Sweden by population. What makes Stockholm, Gothenburg/Göteborg and Malmö different from the 1953 other urban areas or localities (tätorter)? They are the same. For example, look at Malmö. It's about the urban area so Malmö urban area is a duplicate. Both include Arlöv (a part of Burlöv Municipality), both had a population of 280,415 in 2010 etc. --IRISZOOM (talk) --IRISZOOM (talk) 03:14, 11 October 2014 (UTC)

WP:VG comments subpages cleanup[edit]

Hi, there is currently a discussion taking place at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games#VG comments subpages regarding whether it would be acceptable to permanently shift all comments subpages associated with WP:VG articles into talk. This shift would follow the recommended approach given at WP:DCS. The WikiProject Sweden articles that would be affected by this action are these:

If you have objections related specifically to WikiProject Sweden's use of these subpages, please make this clear at the discussion so that other unrelated talk pages can be cleaned up where appropriate. Thank you. -Thibbs (talk) 15:57, 16 October 2014 (UTC)
