Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Elizabeth Mainwaring[edit]

I thought it only fair to warn you guys that I've nominated Elizabeth Mainwaring for deletion (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Elizabeth Mainwaring). I don't have any prejudice against Dad's Army or her character, but I just don't feel that she's appropriate material for an article: I'm sure there'll be plenty of disagreement but I'm hopeful we can reach a consensus on this. --John24601 14:38, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Episode coverage[edit]

The WikiProject Television episode coverage taskforce have recently been working on a review process for episode articles. There are a rash of articles about individual episodes which fail notability, and are unlikely to ever reach such requirements. Many contributors are unaware of the specific guidelines to assess notability in episode pages: Wikipedia:Television episodes. We have expanded these guidelines to make them more helpful and explanatory, and we invite you to read the guidelines, and make any comments on its talk page. After much discussion, we have created a proposed review process for dealing with problem articles. See: Wikipedia:Television article review process. We invite discussion of this process on its talk page. General comments about this whole process are welcome at the episode coverage taskforce talkpage. Thanks! Gwinva 10:13, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Episode articles[edit]

All the Dad's Army episodes have been tagged with {{Dated episode notability}} and need to have sources added within 14 days. I have sourced the first series from "The Complete A-Z of Dad’s Army" but would appreciate some help:) Tim! 10:48, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

You just need to show that there are enough general sources to keep them intact. Each one doesn't need to be improved. Just adding one simple source doesn't save them though. You need to show that production and reception can be written about thoroughly. See the episode list talk page for better details. TTN 11:41, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

AFD nom[edit]

WP:FICT has been revised[edit]

WP:FICT, the notability guideline for elements within a work of fiction (characters, places, elements, etc) has a new proposal/revision that is now live [1] Everyone is encouraged to leave feedback on the talk page. Ned Scott 22:08, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Notability (serial works)[edit]

There is a proposal to split WP:EPISODE into a more general notability guideline, Wikipedia:Notability (serial works), and make the rest of WP:EPISODE just a MOS guideline. Please join in at WT:EPISODE#Proposed split of EPISODE and/or Wikipedia talk:Notability (serial works). -- Ned Scott 22:08, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Dadsarmyproject: Articles of unclear notability[edit]

there are currently 33 articles in the scope of this project which are tagged with notability concerns. I have listed them here. (Note: this listing is based on a database snapshot of 12 March 2008 and may be slightly outdated.)

I would encourage members of this project to have a look at these articles, and see whether independent sources can be added, whether the articles can be merged into an article of larger scope, or possibly be deleted. Any help in cleaning up this backlog is appreciated. For further information, see Wikipedia:WikiProject Notability.

If you have any questions, please leave a message on the Notability project page or on my personal talk page. (I'm not watching this page however.) Thanks! --B. Wolterding (talk) 15:53, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

WikiProject Media franchises[edit]

Dear WikiProject Dad's Army participants...WikiProject Media franchises needs some help from other projects which are similar. Media franchises' scope deals primarily with the coordination of articles within the hundreds if not thousands of media franchises which exist. Sometimes a franchise might just need color coordination of the various templates used; it could mean creating an article for the franchise as a jump off point for the children of it; or the creation of a new templating system for media franchise articles. The project primarily focuses on multimedia franchises. It would be great if some of this project's participants would come over and help the project get back on solid footing. Also, if you know of similar projects which have not received this, let Lady Aleena (talk · contribs) know. Please come and take a look at the project and see if you wish to lend a hand. You can sign up here if you wish. Thank you. LA @ 21:29, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Franchise naming convention discussion at WikiProject Media franchises[edit]

Dear WikiProject Dad's Army participants...WikiProject Media franchises is currently discussing a naming convention for franchise articles. Since this may affect one or more articles in your project, we would like to get the opinions of all related projects before implimenting any sweeping changes. Please come and help us decide. Thanks! LA (T) @ 22:24, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Eric Longworth[edit]

Does anybody have a reliable source that Eric Longworth was born in Shaw and Crompton? I'm stuggling to find anything. --Jza84 |  Talk  16:35, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

I have found a citation and added it to the article. Tim! (talk) 16:44, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
Wow! That was quick! Thank you! --Jza84 |  Talk  17:39, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

The Dad's Army Appreciation Society[edit]

I came across this article by a new editor, tagged for speedy deletion. I've moved it to the article incubator, where it can be found at Wikipedia:Article Incubator/The Dad's Army Appreciation Society. I think the subject of the article should be notable enough to sustain an article and this WPs members should be able to bash it into shape. Please notify any other WPs about this that you think it is appropriate to do so. Best wishes with the article. Mjroots (talk) 21:14, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

Following creation of a duplicate article I raised an issue at WP:ANI. The result of this is that the article's notability has been established, and the article remains in mainspace at Dad's Army Appreciation Society, where it is available for improvement. Mjroots (talk) 13:42, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

Copyright problem[edit]

I don't know how active this WP is, but some assistance at this featured list would be very helpful, since it appears, superficially at least, to have serious copyright problems.

Updates to TV#MOS[edit]

I'm not sure how many people monitor WP:MOSTV or even WP:TV (the basic WikiProject for all of us), but we've been trying to get some feedback on additions to the TV Manual of Style. It largely has to do with the inclusion of "Overview" tables at the start of the page, the order in which season lists are presented (currently, there is no concrete order), and what is considered too much info for DVDs (i.e. should we be placing every detail about the box set in the article, from each interview to the aspect ratio, or should be keep it more generalized). Please see discussion at WT:MOSTV#Updates to the MOS. Thank you.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 22:07, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

Turn into task force?[edit]

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Wikipedia:WikiProject Dad's ArmyWP:WikiProject Television/Dad's Army task force – Obviously, this talk page has become obscure for one year or two, and right now is the right time to conver this Project into a task force. --George Ho (talk) 04:39, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

Re:Becoming a task force of WP:TV?[edit]

Again, I have proposed converting this inactive Project into a task force of WP:TV. It is now discussed, so click here to join. --George Ho (talk) 02:20, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
