Article alerts[edit]

This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.

If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

Request for comment on Biographies of living people[edit]

Hello Wikiproject! Currently there is a discussion which will decide whether wikipedia will delete 49,000 articles about a living person without references, here:

Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Biographies of living people

Since biographies of living people covers so many topics, nearly all wikiproject topics will be effected.

The two opposing positions which have the most support is:

  1. supports the deletion of unreferenced articles about a living person, User:Jehochman
  2. opposes the deletion of unreferenced articles about a living person, except in limited circumstances, User:Collect

Comments are welcome. Keep in mind that by default, editor's comments are hidden. Simply press edit next to the section to add your comment.

Please keep in mind that at this point, it seems that editors support deleting unreferenced article if they are not sourced, so your project may want to pursue the projects below.

Seinfeld articles have been selected for the Wikipedia 0.8 release[edit]

Version 0.8 is a collection of Wikipedia articles selected by the Wikipedia 1.0 team for offline release on USB key, DVD and mobile phone. Articles were selected based on their assessed importance and quality, then article versions (revisionIDs) were chosen for trustworthiness (freedom from vandalism) using an adaptation of the WikiTrust algorithm.

We would like to ask you to review the Seinfeld articles and revisionIDs we have chosen. Selected articles are marked with a diamond symbol (♦) to the right of each article, and this symbol links to the selected version of each article. If you believe we have included or excluded articles inappropriately, please contact us at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8 with the details. You may wish to look at your WikiProject's articles with cleanup tags and try to improve any that need work; if you do, please give us the new revisionID at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8. We would like to complete this consultation period by midnight UTC on Monday, October 11th.

We have greatly streamlined the process since the Version 0.7 release, so we aim to have the collection ready for distribution by the end of October, 2010. As a result, we are planning to distribute the collection much more widely, while continuing to work with groups such as One Laptop per Child and Wikipedia for Schools to extend the reach of Wikipedia worldwide. Please help us, with your WikiProject's feedback!

The Reverse Peephole[edit]

That episode I recently checked have been sort of permanently deleted. The Reverse Peephole is located in Season 9 so until then, I'll leave someone with better experience, like The Cartoon to recreate the pages soon. I'm not in charge of those articles so I'll leave it up to you.

Thanks. (This is just a report). Johnnyauau2000 (talk) 16:21, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

Seinfeld needs some overhaul.[edit]

I went over the GA review and I realise why it couldn't reach A-Class or A-grade, whatever you want to call it. If you check Seinfeld Discussion Archive 2 I think where it is, only 1b and c is there and not being ticked. One explains it has to be well written and the other has parts that shouldn't be original research. I would be happy if those two can be addressed. It took me a while why we couldn't go higher so there you go. Johnnyauau2000 (talk) 04:46, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

I'm having some progress but it still some long way off. The article is getting more constructive with web reference and more improve additions like better summaries. Please, anyone can discuss it here or on the normal Seinfeld discussion page. Johnnyauau2000 (talk) 06:47, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

I feel a little crazy to tell you but I manage to refix the Season 1-9 summaries in terms of episode restructuring and seriously includes web references and the text is more polished. The music list will be on until about the 4th of October so if there's no objections or you want to write the music into the episodes, do it now before it becomes permanent and the only way to get it back is to revive it but only take notes on the history page. The minor character list would be taken down for the time being until there's a resolution we could agree on. It hasn't happened yet but it will when the time comes. So please, if you signed up to this, you better have some good ideas. Thanks. Johnnyauau2000 (talk) 11:57, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

Both recurring character list and music list has been taken down. If you want to revive it, there should definitely be a criteria for keeping them on the Seinfeld article, as well as having web references in order to keep material from being oust. Johnnyauau2000 (talk) 02:03, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

Merger of this project into WikiProject Television as a task force[edit]

It has been suggested that WikiProject Seinfeld to be merged into WikiProject Television as a task force since the project might be inactive or semi-active. After reviewing this project that it appears that there have not been any active discussion on the talk page in some time and the only content updates appear to be simple maintenance so being supported by a larger project might be beneficial. If you have questions or comments, please let us know. JJ98 (Talk / Contributions) 08:45, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

I will need help with this. First off it's on the first DVD volume disc 4 in terms of resources and there might not be room for this section. If anyone is reading this, show your dedication and it would be done in weeks or months. Johnnyauau2000 (talk) 10:05, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
