Will McDonough (born February 23, 1980) is an American businessman and entrepreneur. Will is also known for being a confidante and manager to the New England Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady.[1]

Early life[edit]

Will grew up just outside Boston, Massachusetts. At Westwood High School, where he served as President of the student body, he started working for the New England Patriots, owned by the Kraft Group. Over 10 years with the Patriots, he had many roles within the organization, starting as an unpaid student intern. It was in this role that he met and was befriended by Brady.

Entrepreneur & Businessman[edit]

In 2002, Will graduated with a degree in marketing and pre law from Boston College. He continued to work for the Kraft Group throughout college, overseeing and growing their off-the-field revenues, negotiating logo rights, licensing deals for the team, and creating brand extensions.

In 2007, he left the Kraft Group to start McDonough Management Company where he guided and grew the careers of celebrities and sports figures such as Brady,[2] Gisele Bündchen, Wes Welker and Tedy Bruschi. During this time Will also focussed on real-estate opportunities and established Real Estate Advisors, an independent real estate brokerage firm. In 2008, Will joined Avenue Capital Group[3] where he launched and grew a $250 million distressed debt fund, investing across the capital structure in good companies with bad balance sheets.

In 2010 he joined Goldman Sachs to manage the private wealth of the current and retired partners of the bank, as well as the money of those with important relationships to those groups.[4]

Will has also previously partnered with Andy Heyward in founding A Squared Entertainment, an animation and cartoon company that has partnerships with AOL, Warren Buffett, Gisele, Martha Stewart, Stan Lee, and Arnold Schwarzenegger to create educational content for children.

Personal[edit]

Will serves on the boards of the Massachusetts Boys State Foundation, Boston Gives, and is the Co-Chair of the Best Buddies Hyannis Port Challenge with Anthony Kennedy Shriver.
