Winchester is a rural municipality in the province of Manitoba in Western Canada. It is located in the southwestern part of the province, on its border with the state of North Dakota in the United States. Surrounding the separate town of Deloraine, the municipality had a population of 594 in the Canada 2006 Census.[1]

Geography[edit]

According to Statistics Canada, the rural municipality has an area of 725.58 km² (280.15 sq mi). The administratively separate town of Deloraine is enclaved by Winchester, at a location west of its centre. A minority portion of Manitoba's Turtle Mountain Provincial Park is located at the southeast corner of the municipality, along its border with North Dakota. (Most of the park is located in neighbouring Morton Rural Municipality.)
