The World Games of 2009 will take place in Kaohsiung, Chinese Taipei, the Olympic name of the Republic of China (Taiwan), from July 16, 2009 to July 26, 2009. The games will feature sports that are not contested in the Olympic Games.

The games will be the first Olympic-related event to be hosted by Taiwan since the start of their participation as Chinese Taipei in the events at the 1984 Summer Olympics.
