Wright Karts is an English company founded in 1978, manufacturing and racing quality racing kart chassis.

SWRD/TEAM WRIGHTKARTS is unique amongst UK based Teams/Manufacturers as they have contested the ultra-competitive Junior/ICA/Formula A/Formula SuperA/KF1/KF2/KF3/KZ1/KZ2 and Formula Super ICC World and European championships for over two decades. Building on this international experience an unrivalled 25 year run of RAC British Championship titles have been obtained.

SWRD Racing Engines is subsidiary of Simon Wright Racing Developments and specialises in the tuning of kart racing engines. Building a string of British Championship winning motors, SWRD racing engines is one of the most sought after tuners in the country. SWRD Racing Engines have been an Iame agent for over 20 years (the longest in the UK). They also rebuild and repair a multitude of other makes and models of motors.

Formula One star and 2009 World champion Jenson Button spent much of his karting career with Simon Wright Racing Developments/Team Wright Karts who helped him to attain his only two British Championship victories (1991-Cadet & 1992-TKM).

Dan Wheldon, IRL (Indy Race League) champion 2005, also spent the vast majority of his karting career with Simon Wright Racing winning multiple British Championships along the way.

  • Jake Rosenzweig - F3 Euro series

For the 2009 domestic season Team Wright Karts was headed by Lee Bell, 2008 Vice Champion in the prestigious KF1 karting class (attained whilst with Wright karts). He competed in the British Super 1 Series (British Championships), Bell finished 6th in the Championship after missing the final two rounds of the championships.

Fellow Wright Kart driver Alex Gill wrapped up the 2009 Super 1 series Cadet class championship title with a round to spare! Also Alex finished 3rd position in the prestigious 2009 Formula kart stars series.

The 2011 season will see the newly released Wright Apollo Chassis be introduced into the Cadet class and will be used by Team drivers Harrison Newey (Son of Redbull F1 supermo Adrian Newey), Charlie Barlow, and Rookie James Small. The chassis will also be used by last years Championship runners up Team Eclipse Racing, SAS Motorsport and Focus Motorsport in the Cadet class.

Another brand new Chassis to be given its debut in 2011 is the Wright Nemesis for the brand new Super Cadet class. This will be piloted in the Super 1 Championship by Owen Griffiths running out of the "Team Wright Karts" Official race team.
