X-Bike (X-1000)

The X-Bike is a stationary bike used in exercising. The bike has lateral moving handle bars (X-Bars) that replicate the motion of riding a real bike. Similar to the cross trainer, the X-bike allows users to exercise both upper and lower body simultaneously.

In the photo, the female is not using the bike properly as she is leaning her body. It is preferable to maintain a straight torso when moving the handlebars to improve core stability.

The handlebars have adjustable tension controlling how hard it is to move them. There are three possible hand positions on handlebars and each position changes which muscle is performing the most work (bicep or triceps or both). By holding your core straight, you also work your obliques (love handle area) and abdominals (stomach). There is also a “gear shift” on the handlebars that makes the pedal resistance greater or lighter. The design of the flywheel on these bikes also makes it possible to standup while riding or coast without the pedals turning. The X-Bike can provide a total body workout if used properly.
