From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
YLE FST5 (Finlands Svenska Television, literally "Finland's Swedish Television") is YLE's Finland-Swedish digital television channel, providing television programmes in the Swedish language in Finland. It is a public-service channel principally intended for Finland's Swedish-speaking minority, although – since most of its programmes are subtitled in Finnish – a large proportion of its viewers are in fact Finnish-speakers.
Finlands Svenska Television's output was formerly included in the programming of YLE's two main television channels, TV1 and TV2. However, since 1 September 2007, all of YLE's Swedish-language television programmes are now broadcast exclusively on digital channel FST5.
