YMCA University of Science and Technology (YMCA UST), formerly YMCA Institute of Engineering (YMCA IE), is a state university located in Faridabad, in the state of Haryana, India. It was established in 1969.[1]

YMCA UST was established in 1969 as an Indo-German project, a joint venture of the National Council of YMCAs of India, the Government of Haryana and the Central Agencies for Development Aid, Bonn, Germany. In December 2009 it was upgraded to the status of state university by the state government, awarding it autonomous status.

Campus [edit]

YMCA University has a campus in Faridabad, 34 kilometres (21 mi) from Delhi on National Highway 2. The campus It incorporates a branches of the Indian Overseas Bank and of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam.

Academics [edit]

YMCA University hold four year B.Tech courses in several Engineering fields such as Computer Engineering , Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering , Electronics & Communication Engineering and Electronics Instrumentation & Control. The intake for B.Tech courses in the 2011-2012 session is 420 in total and admission is through the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE).[2] Two year M.Tech courses are offered in similar branches.[3] In addition YMCA offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) course. Admission is preferably through the Common Admission Test (CAT) or Management Aptitude Test (MAT), but first class engineering graduates are also considered.[4]

Student life [edit]

YMCA University holds several annual festival. CULMYCA is an annual cultural festival, held in February or March.[5] Khoj is an annual technical festival.[citation needed] Concourse is an annual sports meet.[citation needed]

YMCA UST have IEEE Club to promote professional competencies of the graduates. Various workshops and contests are organized in association with this organization.[citation needed]

Hostel [edit]

YMCA University has separate hostels for girls (two buildings) and boys (4 buildings: Zakir Hussain Hall, Nehru Hall, Tagore Hall).
