Yamaga (山鹿市 Yamaga-shi) is a city located in Kumamoto, Japan.
On January 15, 2005 Yamaga absorbed the towns of Kahoku, Kamoto, Kaō and Kikuka, all from Kamoto District, into the new expanded city of Yamaga.
As of this merger but with 2003 population estimates, the city has an estimated population of 58,678 and a density of 196 persons per km². The total area is 299.67 km².
The city was founded on April 1, 1954.
Attractions include the Kumamoto Prefectural Ancient Burial Mound Museum.
