Yarará (UAV)

The Yarará project is the first unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) programme in Latin America, and the first to be produced in series and for export. The system is developed by Nostromo Defensa for surveillance, border patrol and reconnaissance. Unveiled at the Air Show of the Argentine Air Force (Fuerza Aérea Argentina, FAA) on 10 August 2006. The manufacturer says it has been produced in small series for export to unidentified government customer in the United States.

The vehicle was named after the yarará South American snake.

Currently the Yarara UAV has been upgraded to use an advanced Wankel engine , running in heavy fuel with electronic injection . This engine is being developed by the British company Cubewano Ltd .
