The yellow-headed temple turtle (Heosemys annandalii) is a large turtle native to Southeast Asia (Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, etc.). Its name derives from the fact that this turtle is often found near Buddhist temples within its range.
These turtles are aquatic and grow to over 20 inches (51 cm) in size. They have been reported to live in captivity for up to 35 years. They are generally herbivorous creatures.
