[edit] Name
The name derives from the word Yiddish, as Tottenham was once one of the largest Jewish areas of London.
[edit] Interactions with police
On 4 August 2001 police had to split rival Yid Army and Millwall Bushwackers on Jamaica Road, Bermondsey, near Millwall's stadium The Den, after what was described as a vicious fight. 30 police officers and three horses were among the injured, as was a man who needed hospital treatment for stab wounds.[1]
