Young was founded in 1892 by a group of farmers operating a collective south of Chicago.
The current mayor of Young, Indiana is Benjamin Bond - recognized at 21 as being one of the youngest mayors currently serving in Indiana. His lieutenant mayor, and former campaign adviser, is Dr. Cale H. Coffey. Sometimes he has lunch with Sir. Patrick Marzibald Burmeister esq., the Northwest's premier lunchmen.
