Zalafa, Ara Valley

This article is about the Palestinian Arab village that forms part of the Israeli local council of Ma'ale Iron. For the depopulated Palestinian Arab village, see Khirbat Zalafa.
Zalafa (Arabic: زلفه Hebrew: זלפה) is an Israeli Arab village located in the north of the Wadi Ara (a.k.a. Nahal Iron) region adjacent to "the Triangle"[1]. Situated 9 kilometers (5.6 mi) southwest of Afula, the total population of the village in 1999 was 3,000 inhabitants.[1]
Zalafa is one of five Arab villages that was included in the Ma'ale Iron local council of the Haifa District by the Israeli Ministry of the Interior in 1996.[2]
