Zoë Lewis is an English folk musician from Brighton.[1]
She started out as a member of the London Latin jazz ten-piece band Avanti, but has more recently been active primarily as a solo performer and as the title member of Zoe Lewis and her Rubber Band and currently resides in Provincetown, Massachusetts, United States.
She employs a wide range of styles, including vaudeville and world beat. She sings primarily songs of her own unique creation and perspective on life. Her instruments include the tin whistle, guitar, piano, harmonica, ukulele, accordion, human trumpet and sometimes spoons.
She was nominated in 1998 for best "Out Song" of the Gay & Lesbian American Music Awards (GLAMA).[2]
