List of words to slip into casual conversation[edit]

Copyrights[edit]

I want others to be able to use my contributions with as few restrictions as possible. Hence, all my edits to Wikipedia (to which I have the copyright) are released into the public domain. I've been told that in some jurisdictions the concept of the public domain does not exist; if this is the case, then my contributions are available under the GFDL (of course), and any Creative Commons license.

All contributions by this user are hereby released into the public domain
Public domain I, the author, hereby agree to waive all claim of copyright (economic and moral) in all content contributed by me, the user, and immediately place any and all contributions by me into the public domain, unless otherwise noted.
I grant anyone the right to use my work for any purpose, without any conditions, to be changed or destroyed in any manner whatsoever without any attribution or notification.

Matt's blurb:

Because I release all my contributions (including photographs and diagrams) into the public domain, there is no legal requirement to fulfil any special obligations when reusing them. Having said that, I would appreciate attribution — that is, if it's reasonably easy for you to do so, to list me in the credits somewhere or to provide a link to Wikipedia. And feel free to drop me a note to let me know if you find them useful — I'd be chuffed. If (and this I suspect would be quite unlikely) you make some huge profit from a use of the work, you might consider passing on to me some appropriate fraction of your profit. Again, to emphasise, none of the above are legal obligations, only a casual ethical prompting. One analogy is that of a busker/street performer; if you enjoyed such a performance, it is appropriate to express appreciation for this — by applause or a donation for example — but it is certainly not obligatory. And above all, I'd prefer to see my contributions reused than not, so do not let any of the above hinder your reuse!
