The 2024 Tampa Bay Rays season is the 27th season of the Tampa Bay Rays franchise and their 17th as the Rays. The Rays play their home games at Tropicana Field as members of Major League Baseball 's American League East .

The Rays finished the 2023 season 99–63, good enough for second place in the AL East. They would be eliminated by the eventual world series winning Texas Rangers in the 2023 American League Wild Card Series .
In a procedural move, shortstop Wander Franco was added back to the 40-man roster following the conclusion of the 2023 World Series following his stint on MLB's administrative leave.[1]
Roster departures [ edit ]
On November 2, 2023, relief pitchers Chris Devenski , Jake Diekman , and Robert Stephenson elected free agency.
On November 4, 2023, the Rays placed Jalen Beeks , Christian Bethancourt , Josh Fleming , Tristan Gray , Raimel Tapia , and Cole Sulser on outright waivers.[2]
