Villeret - have i got the right one[edit]

I've been reading about the WWI, the town of Villeret was awarded the Crois de Guerre for sheltering Brittish soldiers cut off form their army in August / September 1914. One of those was a private Robert Digby, who was shot along with 3 other soldiers. They were Thorpe, Donohoe and Martin shot 27 may 1916, Digby was shot 30 May 1916 Robert Digby left behind a daughter Helen Dessenne, later adopted by Roberts brother Thomas.

This Villeret is about 8 - 10 miles (13-16km) east of Peronne, 1 mile South of Hargicourt. I would like to write an article about this town and these events. Have I got the right Villeret Gnangarra 15:21, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You haven't said what you think is erroneous about the coordinates in the article (which seem to me to be correct). etymology[edit]

Aisne developed from the ancient settlement of Acinum, from which its name derives.

The dept (like most) is named for a river, and it's uncommon for a river to be named for a settlement (rather than the reverse). Elsewhere the river's name is said to come from Axona.  ? —Tamfang (talk) 05:28, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
