However, in evolution, adaptation is the process whereby improvement of function occurs because it increases fitness. Adaptation in the evolutionary sense cannot occur without genetic variation. Behavioral adaptation how I assume you are using it (e.g. human response to climate change) doesn't fall under adaptation as an evolution phenomenon. undo Tags: Manual revert Reverted
