Burhar is a city and nagar panchayat in Shahdol district in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India.
Geography
Burhar is located at 23°13′N 81°32′E / 23.22°N 81.53°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 482 metres (1581 feet).burhar is located near amarkantak( a hindu holy place)about 80 km.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[2] Burhar had a population of 17,746. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Burhar has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 75% and female literacy of 62%. 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.
