* On April 25, 1955, the last game of the championship was |Fenerbahçe against Galatasaray at Spor Sergi Sarayı. Galatasaray and Modaspor were in the championship race until the last game and their points were the same. Therefore the last game was very important for Galatasaray and Modaspor as a result of the champion would be determined by total point difference. In the game, Fenerbahçe Director withdrew their team from the match just 27 seconds left to the end of the game. Because, the result Galatasaray 40 Fenerbahçe 27 and the point diffence would enough make Galatasaray SK league champion. Therefore, the match could not be concluded. Neverthless, the Federation of Sports Game declared that such behavior and action of the Fenerbahçe Director would not be acceptable, not be tolerated and there were two champions Galatasaray and Modaspor in that year. The cup was splitted in two pieces and both teams could keep this in their museums. |
