User:Ymblanter: Difference between revisions

The theory that I find most credible as an explanation of the decline of the community since 2007 is the end of the "SoFixIt" culture and its replacement by the templating culture which some consider newbie biting and which has lead to hundreds of thousands of articles disfigured by garish templates calling attention to problems that somebody hopes someone else will understand and fix. Current activities

Main works I am doing on a regular basis (as of January 2013):

Writing and improving articles on topics pertaining to Russia, mostly human and physical geography and biographies, organized by Federal subjects. Done topics on Arkhangelsk Oblast, Vologda Oblast, Novgorod Oblast, and Pskov Oblast, now doing Leningrad Oblast, next will be doing Tver Oblast.
Cleaning up and adding population data to articles on districts and urban localities of Kazakhstan (South Kazakhstan, Taraz, and Almaty Provinces still to do), as well as creating articles on Kazakhstan towns where those are missing.
Categorizing NRHP articles, now doing Virginia.
Adding pictures and references to the articles on Beijing Subway stations, next plan to expand the articles, adding geolocation and history.
Doing new page patrol on a regular basis and checking articles for deletion once per day.
