[edit]He took silk (was made a Queen's Counsel, now a King's Counsel) in 2011.
In recognition of his high-profile work on public inquiries, Beer was awarded Silk of the Year in the Inquests and Public Inquiries category at the Chambers UK Bar Awards 2023[4].
