Add your request in the most appropriate place below.

Before adding a request please:

Consensus appears to be to list individuals alphabetically by their first name, band names beginning with "A", "An", or "The" should be placed alphabetically by the second word in their name, and names beginning with a digit should be placed in the 0−9 section.

Reliable, independent, 3rd party sources must be provided at the end of the article request, and the proposed article title itself must be linked. Any request that does not follow these guidelines will be removed.

Before you save the page, please make sure to preview the page by clicking the box labeled "Show preview" next to the "Submit changes" box to ensure that the article is a red link, otherwise, disambiguate it usually with (band) or (group) or if these already exist, then you can usually disambiguate it further by origin (American band) or by genre (rock band), etc.

Also, when adding a request, please include as much information as possible (such as webpages, articles, or other reference material) so editors can find and distinguish your request from an already-created article.

  • Dangermaker (artist) Dangermaker emerged from San Francisco, CA in 2009 when singer/songwriter Adam Burnett unveiled a series of unfinished home demos to drummer Carlos Rodrigues. They collaborated to create edgier sounding songs than either had previously and went into PopSmear Studios to record with Scott Llamas (Dizzy Balloon/Panda, The Action Design, Finish Ticket), resulting in a widely reviewed 5-track EP including the Owl Mag naming Dangermaker “One of my top 5 favorite Indie bands in the Bay Area”. However, the band was still an incomplete duo until keyboardist David DeAngelis left the Arkansas Delta to see what the West Coast had to offer and brought bassist Neko along one night. While all four members began as complete strangers, they were brought together by a shared passion and need to create music reflective of their diverse backgrounds, tastes, and influences, a need that came to fruition when they went into Studio SQ in 2011 to record “Black Dream” with producers John Flores and Justin Sachs (Two Gallants, A B & The Sea, Foreign Cinema). What they could not have imagined was that during the first week of tracking, Adam’s father suffered a fatal accident and suddenly passed away. Dangermaker gained direct insight into a parable that artists have held throughout time — human experience is the substance from which honest and true works of art are formed. While the recording process nearly ground to a halt, the band ultimately used the tragedy as creative motivation and admit that “Without realizing it the experience influenced many of the new songs found on the record. Writing and recording became a process that brought us all together.” Hot on the heels of their 2013 debut album Black Dream, Breakup Records also released Light The Dark I in the fall 2014, which has received rave reviews and serves as a signed testament to the timeless maturity and solidity of the band's sound. Channeling a signature brand of dark indie pop ala early Killers, Phoenix, and White Lies has propelled the band forward to recent showcases at SXSW, CMJ and beyond. • Gabriel Savage (musician) is a Canadian pop singer, songwriter, music producer and composer from Vancouver, British Columbia. After singing and writing with rock bands early in his career, Canadian artist Gabriel Savage made a seemingly effortless transition into the role of electro-savvy producer with his solo release of 'Rain' in the Summer of 2015, followed by his reworking of the Chris Isaak classic 'Wicked Game' late that same year. 2016 brought 'One Night', a "nostalgic take on early 2000's trance" and 'Real Eyes', followed by the re-release of his 2013 collaborative efforts 'Close Your Eyes' (feat. Gabriela Geneva)' and 'Dance the Night Away', accompanied by a 2017 Noah's Star: 'Close Your Eyes (Remix)' by Pablo Manazark (son of the late-Ray Manzarek, The Doors). Late that same year Savage released 'Rough Seas' featuring fellow Vancouver singer/songwriter Elle Wolf, the first of his releases to not feature his own vocals and the first to delve so nonchalantly into the realm of electro-pop. The newest single from Gabriel Savage was reported via his Twitter and Facebook accounts on April 9th 2019 and is expected for an April 25th release date on all major music platforms and streaming outlets. sources: [373] [374] https://jamsphere.com/reviews/gabriel-savage-one-night-outside-of-the-box https://jadedphotography.wordpress.com/2011/11/13/interview-with-vancouver-band-the-niches-gabriel-savage/

We want everybody to have the opportunity to be what they are without fear. We are rare flowers trying to survive in a concrete jungle. Created by nature we are beautiful and strong. We aim from darkness to the light. We are, we exist, we shine. All the boundaries are relative. To define and overcome them is in our power". • Ika (band) Is an indie / americana band from Belgrade, Serbia. Members are: Ivana Smolović (vocal), Darko Živić (guitar), Marija Jovanović (violin) and Miloš Popović (double bass). Ivana started practicing the guitar some years ago while listening to her favorite Iron and Wine, Kings of Convenience and J.Tillman, at the same time trying to compose little pieces for the songs she has been writing for years. First home recordings she made reached Ivan Lončarević, radio host of a popular indie music program Pop Depresion (Radio Studio B, 99,1), who offered to enlist the song Bubble into a compilation he was working on at the moment: Morning will change everything? - New music scene of Serbia. That is when Ivana decided her song needed a proper presentation, and since that guitar practicing didn’t go way to well, she turned to a friend. Darko and Ivana had already played together a couple of years back in a trio, trying to portray their favorite jazz and bossanova standards. Instantly, they made a perfect music match. The initial idea was to keep the band small. Their future violin player Ivana met while working on a project A Star is Born (directed by Vanja Kovačević), a rocumentary of a cover band Writers of Fiction, which plays songs by The Decemberists. Marija was already a fan of Bubble, the song that, in the meantime, became something of a radio hit single. [418] [419] sr:Ика_(бенд)

  • Jason D. Williams (The rock 'n' roll history of Memphis looms large in Williams' world. He recorded for RCA and Sun Records in the 1980s and '90s, and returned to the recording fold in 2010 and has continued steady since. At the age of 16, Williams left his tiny hometown of El Dorado, Ark., to perform with LaBeef who had set up a base of operations in northeast Massachusetts. Williams, who continues to work with LaBeef on occasion, went solo in the late 1980s and found a steady home at Mallards in the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, TN when a snowstorm stranded him a few steps from the Peabody door, quickly he attracted a following and the rest, as they say, is history. After several years, he left after signing with RCA, which released his first album, "Tore Up," and he stayed on the road after Sun Records issued "Wild" in 1993. "Don’t Get None Onya’," released in 2004, captured the power of his blend of honky-tonk country and Memphis rock 'n' roll and was the birth of his own label. “Rockin”, “Killer Instincts” and “Recycled” soon followed and the latest album is in progress now. Williams performed all of the hand shots for the movie “Great Balls of Fire” starring a young Dennis Quaid and was also featured in “The War Room” documenting Bill Clinton’s race for the White House. • The Lovelocks Mixing soaring vocals, sweet harmonies, and sultry strings, complemented with an infectiously high-energy stage presence is the essence of 2014 Canadian Country Music Association® (CCMA®) Discovery Series winners The Lovelocks (MDM Recordings Inc. / Universal Music Canada), a female roots-country duo comprised of Ali Raney and Zoe Neuman. Celebrated by RocketHub as "crowd funding pioneers in the world of country music in Canada", this business-savvy duo has raised over $65,000 dollars to date, funding the recording of both, their debut EP, and their second album Born to Love (release date: March 4, 2016). Following an incredible response to their performance of "Time After Time" (originally performed by Cyndi Lauper) during their Toronto EP release party earlier this year, The Lovelocks chose to record the song as their newest single. Their very own take on this classic hit includes infusing the iconic song with their upbeat roots country sounds and signature fiddle interplays; "Time After Time" hit Canadian country radio on May 24, 2016. Their previous single, "Home Sweet Home" has dazzled Canadian country music fans, becoming the #1 selling single by a Canadian country artist (week of January 25, 2016). Co-written by The Lovelocks (Ali Raney and Zoe Neuman), Gavin Slate (The Tragically Hip, Doc Walker, Barenaked Ladies), Travis Wood, and produced by Grammy award winner Ben Glover, and JUNO award winner Mitch Merrett, "Home Sweet Home" also made it to #2 on the top 50 Canadian viral list on Spotify, gaining over 200,000 plays within the first few months of the release. The single also achieved a spot in the top 20 Country Singles iTunes chart, with The Lovelocks being the only Canadian artist in the top 20 at that time. The video for "Home Sweet Home" debuted on CMT Canada (February 5, 2016), and was directed by Ben Knechtel, who also directed the music video for Carly Rae Jepsen's “Call Me Maybe”. Celebrated by BlogTO as "one of the top 5 alt-country bands to watch in Toronto", The Lovelocks are a dynamic duo, just two city girls who LOVE country music. Their sound is commonly described as a mixture of The Dixie Chicks go Lumineering with a Mumford & Sons-ian alt-country, roots-inspired approach filled with authentic, 'roots-country' sound with lots of acoustic instrumentation, including the fiddle, banjo, mandolin, and dobro. • Lydia Ramsey (Lydia Ramsey is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Seattle, Washington. Her debut album Bandita is set to be released in October 2016. Her musical style has been described as a combination of folk, roots-rail, and Americana. Ramsey has been praised for the almost vintage quality of her voice. But her art and outlook aren't solely influenced by the past and certainly not dwelling in nostalgia. A collector of ancient music making devices, her songs feature those instruments in unique arrangements to color the tunes, all the while backing up her beautiful voice. Her songs convey both the wildness and free nature of the great northwest and are steeped in the fingerpick-guitar rudiments of folk music. Born at home in the wooded beach town of Indianola, WA, Ramsey was raised by musician parents in a house scattered with instruments, from guitars and mandolins, to clarinets and accordions. With an upbringing rooted deeply in musical discovery and invention, her earliest inspirations came from her exploration on the piano, through the music of Chopin, Bill Evans, Debussy and Bach. When she began playing guitar, she drew inspiration from traditional folk artists. These influences shaped the foundation of her songwriting, combining the melodies of classical and jazz composers, with the storytelling and harmonies rooted in folk music.) • Moral Crux [721] Moral Crux is an American punk rock band from Ephrata, Washington. The band has been active since 1983. The original line-up featured James Farris on vocals, Jeff Jenkins on guitar, Jody Kimmell on drums and Justin Warren on bass. James and Jeff are still in the band to this date with Jamie Jaspers on bass and Scott Rozell on drums. Moral Crux plays a styled up '77 version of melodic pop punk with politics as a large theme. Moral Crux played all around Washington and Oregon in the 1980's and released their S/t debut in 1987 on Velvetone Records(reissued by Jailhouse in 2008) and a followup on Polemic Records called "Side Effects of Thinking"(reissued by Lookout!/Panic Button in 2000). 1993's "And Nothing But The Truth" Allmusic says "Songs like "Soldier Boy" (an antiwar screed about men in uniform "dying for the president's image") and the self-explanatory "Tienanmen '89" prove that not all political punk needs to sound like Crass in order to be effective" and they are pretty right on. Once their song "Breakdown" was included on the "Punk USA" compilation, alongside Screeching Weasel, The Queers, Pink Lincolns, The Vindictives, Face to Face, Jawbreaker and tons more, people began taking more notice. The release of "I Was A Teenage Teenager" in 1994(reissued by Jailhouse in 2011) just added to this.). Followed by a slew 7"s and split 7"s with the likes of Boris the Sprinkler and Motherload and a "Greatest Hits" CD on Monitor Records, as well as, an excellent single for Mutant Pop Records "Victim of Hype" MC trudged through the grunge and sludge of the 90's. Later on, Panic Button Records and Lookout! Records released two full lengths "Something More Dangerous" and "Pop Culture Assassins". On "Something More Dangerous" the more polished of the two records, James Farris' disdain and urgency for a better country really seeps through and is best relayed on the song "Bomb for the Mainstream" desperation and anger turns to activism. Moral Crux continues at it today, 30 some odd years after they started, mainly keeping tours to the West Coast and still cranking out singles. 2015 will see the release of new material on the "Revolution(Shouldnt Be So Hard)" 7" on Mooster Records later this year. • The New Division The New Division began as a college dorm room project for songwriter John Kunkel back in 2005. After moving from Uruguay (where he resided for 18 years) to Southern California. Kunkel began experimenting with synthesizers after being heavily influenced by the sounds of Joy Division, New Order, and Depeche Mode. Originally, the name “New Division” was meant as an artist working title for songs that would never be released. Within a few months Kunkel developed a series of songs that attracted other fellow college students at California Baptist University. By the end of 2007, the one man New Division project had transformed into a four piece. Michael Janz (aka “Janzie” by friends) was the first member to be added after Kunkel discovered the two shared common interests in musical tastes. Shortly thereafter both began playing mini-shows in their college dorm which eventually attracted a number of students, including Brock Woolsey who would later be recruited for an on campus battle of the bands to play guitar. After succesfully acheiving first place, The New Division started gaining attention in their local city of Riverside, CA. They were asked to play at several local venues, including the well adored “Back to the Grind” coffee house. During one of their many shows at this location the band met Mark Michalski, who at the time was a dedicated fan of the group. Kunkel, seeing the need for an additional keyboardist recruited Michalski who later played an integral part in shaping the band’s sound. https://www.discogs.com/artist/2335554-The-New-Division

  • Tattoo Rodeo (Southern hard rock with country overtones, Tattoo Rodeo played a bluesy down home brand of heavy metal. Very little in the way of commercial success led to the band being largely forgotten by the rock community.
Burbank, California seemed like an unusual spawning ground for such a sounding band, but makes sense considering their earlier formation as AOR band White Sister. When White Sister's keyboardist departed, Dennis Churchill-Dries (vocals/bass), Rick Chadock (guitar) and Rich Wright (drums) recruited piano and B3 Hammond player Michael Lord and renamed themselves Tattoo Rodeo.
1991's Rode Hard - Put Away Wet included such singles as "Been Your Fool" and "Let Me Be The One", but failed to sell in huge quantities. The band would lose their major label contract yet surprisingly returned with another album in 1995. Skin would include new bassist Robert Berg but didn't attract any new fans and Tattoo Rodeo faded away. • Tony Memmel (Americana / Singer/Songwriter / Folk - Tony Memmel is a songwriter and performer with unique charisma and creativity. Though he was born missing his left forearm, he taught himself to play the guitar by constructing a self-made cast out of Gorilla Tape that secures a guitar pick to his arm. Flawlessly, he picks and strums his guitar, and sings his songs with his subtle, yet powerful voice. Even in a busy room, people will pause to listen and take a photo of the man on stage. With powerful, personal lyrics and well-crafted melodies, his music stands alone. Memmel often says, “I don’t want to be a good guitarist with one hand, I want to be a great guitarist and songwriter, period.” Applying this attitude to his craft earned him the 2013 WAMI Award for Singer-Songwriter of the year, where he joined the ranks of fellow WAMI winners: Bon Iver, Les Paul, Cory Chisel, and the BoDeans. • Triplets Ghetto Kids (https://tripletsghettokids.com/) (https://www.facebook.com/pg/TripletsGhettoKids/about/?ref=page_internal) Triplets Ghetto Kids (TGK) is a group of young entertainers from Kampala Uganda, East Africa. Founded by Dauda Kavuma, a former street kid himself,Triplets Ghetto Kids comprises orphaned and/or vulnerable children, 3 girls and 6 boys, ranging in age from 6 to 16 years, primarily hailing from the streets of Kampala after running away from their impoverished homes in search of food. Although these kids and many like them are given certain labels, for example, street kids, orphaned or vulnerable, disadvantaged, runaway kids etc, at Triplets Foundation, we acknowledge the fact that they individually have a unique story, which when one takes the time to listen to, may make one appreciate how these kids' experiences can help shed more light on the many things we do not know about .the disadvantaged children across the world. At their young and impressionable age, the kids have resorted to using music dance and drama as a way of staying away from the violence and poverty that they experienced on the streets. Surprisingly, this has developed into a movement which is yielding profound social consequences to many of our followers as evidenced by the many positive messages we get from all over the world. With the assistance and guidance of their guardian, who also choreographs the kids, Kavuma Dauda, TGK raise money from their live performances and when they are hired to dance to music of various artists in music videos. This is further supplemented by donations from a few individual well wishers. All the money is used to assist in providing them with a safe place to live, food, clothing, medical expenses, and to pay for their education. All the nine (9)Triplets Ghetto Kids members live with Kavuma Dauda together with ten(10) other vulnerable children who he and his wife take care of. Because Kavuma did something radically different from most people, the world is now able to learn a little more about the millions of ignored children across the globe. 235. ^ "Miles Arntzen". Antibalas. Archived from the original on 2015-08-09. Retrieved 2016-02-25. ...drummer/composer, grew up within a musical family in Greenwich Village, New York City. With the help of his early drum teacher, Dave Anania (Blue Man Group), Miles learned to play the drums by listening to his favorite songs and playing along with them verbatim. His drumming, which can be described as a mixture of Tony Allen and Ringo Starr, is heavily influenced by his father (trumpeter Leif Arntzen) and his mentors Stuart Bogie and Billy Martin, along with Greg Errico, Max Roach, Prince, Chris Vatalaro, Jon Theodore, John Bonham and Joey Kramer. At New York University he has studied with Ari Hoenig, Tony Moreno, Wayne Krantz and Lenny Pickett.

From the Big Apple to the sandy shores of North Miami Beach, Brooklyn's EMEFE — the brainchild of Miles Arntzen, who toured with Arcade Fire's Will Butler as Arcade Fire's drummer during his 2015 spring tour — will be making its 305 debut during this year's TransAtlantic fest.

What was the highlight of 2015, for either you personally or for the band? What was the low point? Highlight: Putting together my touring band. Miles Arntzen as standing drummer, Julie Shore as keyboard bassist, Sara Dobbs on mellotron, and everyone on vocals. Lowlight: You know what? I love Austin, but SXSW kind of sucks.
  238. ^ VALENTINO, SILAS (2015-08-31). "EMEFE EMBRACE THE RHYTHMS OF NEW YORK'S EVERYDAY STATIC". The Village Voice. Retrieved 2016-02-23. Miles Arntzen founded the eight-piece ensemble (pronounced Em-eff-ay) as a freshman at NYU and spent the past six years evolving the band's blend of Fela Kuti–inspired Afrobeat with dashes of Prince- and David Byrne–channeling pop orchestration. The band spent two years writing EMEFE and recorded the tracks at percussionist Javier Ramos's family home in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. After the bulk of the songs had been composed, Arntzen stumbled across the book And There Was Light by Jacques Lusseyran, a member of the French Resistance during World War II. The author's account of having his remaining senses drastically heightened after he became blind appealed to Arntzen, as did Lusseyran's comments on self-exploration: You either confront yourself and progress or fail to develop and become lost.
