Opening heading

This article should be merged with the more developed and intricately related content at 2010 Kyrgyzstani uprising. Colipon+(Talk) 21:09, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's been discussed there.--78.2.36.181 (talk) 14:53, 13 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Creating another subpage to this article

I think that we should create a Osh Riots (2010) and Jalal-Abad Riots to deal with the ethnic violence that is presently occuring in Kyrgyzstan. Obviously the ethnic violence is quite different than the political violence that occured in April. This page should simply be a main summary of the crisis currently occuring, and should take the shape of articles more like French Revolution so this page dosen't become flooded with info. Thoughts? --Kuzwa (talk) 15:04, 13 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not too familiar with the situation, but if this is all considered along the same continuum since the April uprising, then it makes perfect sense to have subarticles on significant events within that (as there already exists for the uprising itself). If there were separate articles on the current ethnic riots, then ideally this article could be better balanced and more just summary/context. So I'd say go for it! Joshdboz (talk) 17:02, 13 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

Now that the dust has settled on this, I think it would make sense to rationalise these articles. I propose that we leave just two articles - 2010 Kyrgyzstani uprising and 2010 South Kyrgyzstan riots and merge 2010 Kyrgyzstan crisis into those two articles. AndrewRT(Talk) 20:22, 9 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorting out this entire mess

Since the events last year these articles have largely been abandoned and are in relatively poor condition. This is a shame considering the Polish Wikipedia has made a fabulous featured article beautifully tying all the events together to bring the full story on the revolution in Kyrgyzstan in 2010. I've started a to do list with the hopes of starting a clean-up project to get these articles back in focus. I'm hoping that this article's talk page can be made the central talk of all the problems going on in related articles. I would love to bring this event up to quality at least similar with the French Revolution page. --Kuzwa (talk) 02:51, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move

No consensus to move. Vegaswikian (talk) 06:25, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Kyrgyz Revolution of 20102010 Kyrgyz revolutionRelisted. Vegaswikian (talk) 05:25, 5 November 2011 (UTC) WP cant manufacture proper nouncs as that is pov, and there is no cite that this has been called as such. Instead the generic name for the title as exists for such movements is npov.Lihaas (talk) 06:19, 29 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Survey

Feel free to state your position on the renaming proposal by beginning a new line in this section with *'''Support''' or *'''Oppose''', then sign your comment with ~~~~. Since polling is not a substitute for discussion, please explain your reasons, taking into account Wikipedia's policy on article titles.
  • Oppose; as far as I know, the "generic" naming only (usually) applies to those events named "crisis", "riots" and "protests", in addition to natural disasters such as "hurricane season". There is no evidence that "genericisation" should be used for the most recent major political events, and the current title is actually grammatically correct and conforms to professional practices. -- 92.4.63.73 (talk) 07:10, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

IT WAS NOT A GENOCYDE AT ALL...CHECK FACTS BEFORE DECLAIMING INFORMATION...UZBEKS KNEW ABOUT THIS BEFORE TRAGEDY, MANY OF THEM HAD BEEN PREPARED, MOVED FROM OSH, THEIR CHILDREN STOPPED GO TO SCHOOL A WEEK BEFORE...EVERYTHING WAS PLANNED...AND I DON'T BLAIM ANY SIDES, BUT FOR SURE IT WAS NOT GENOCYDE...IN MY PERSONAL OPINION, UZBEKS WANTED TO USE WITH MOMENT, WEAKNESS OF GOVERMENT AND DEMANDED TO DECLAIM AND ADMIT THEM AS AN INDEPENDENT AUTHONOMICAL COMMUNITY IN THE TERRITORY OF KYRGGYZSTAN

MERGE FOR GOD'S SAKE!

We must merge Kyrgyz Revolution of 2010 with 2010 Kyrgyzstani revolution, 2010 South Kyrgyzstan riots and Reactions to the 2010 Kyrgyzstani uprising. At least the first two if not the latter two, they're to articles about the exact same series of events.
