Ankit Jain is an American voting rights attorney who is the Democratic Party nominee in the 2024 United States Shadow Senator election in the District of Columbia, having defeated Eugene D. Kilow in the primary election on June 4, 2024.[1] If elected, Jain will create history as the first Asian and Indian-American elected official in  D.C. history.[2]

He graduated from James Madison High School and obtained a bachelors degree the University of Chicago in 2015 before getting a law degree from Columbia Law School in 2019.[3] He worked as an Attorney for the Sierra Club and organized March for Our Lives events while in college.[3][4]
