Po' Girl is a Canadian acoustic group whose style derives from jazz, folk, and country with a tinge of punk attitude. The style of music they perform is sometimes referred to as Alt-country but today more commonly called Americana. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, the band consists of Allison Russell (vocals), Awna Teixeira (multi-instrumental), Diona Davies (violin) and Benny Sidelinger. Po' Girl released their self-titled debut album in 2003.
