Balussery (Balisery) is a small but fast developing town area located at the heart of Kozhikode district in Kerala state, south India.

Overview

There is a famous temple in this place called "Balussery Kotta - Vettakkorumakan Temple". ( just 2 km from buststand ). Manjapuzha river flows by the side of the Kotta temple.

The government offices are situated in the heart of the town itself. Branches of all the major banks functions here with ATM centers. A government sub treasury is also working at balusseri. Kerala State Electricity Board has a 33 KV substation at Manjappalam,a division office/subdivision and a section office here.

Regular bus services are available to Calicut, Thamarassery, Koorachundu, Quilandy [[Koottalida],and[perambra]etc.some mini buses connects the hinter land to Balussery Town. KSRTC is also operating services to hilly regions of Balussery like Mankayam and Koorachundu.

Well equipped Cine Centres (Santhosh, Kairali, Sandhya dts & Aiswarya ) with mordern facilities, Hotels and Lodge facilities with reasonable cost can be availed within the town circle. All the major Mobile Phone providers (BSNL, Airtel, Idea, Tataindicom 'n Vodafone) have there access point at Balussery.

Kokkallur

Kokkallur is a small village situated in Balussery Panchayat. A Higher Secondary School. a Health care centre named SMART HOSPITAL, South Malabar Gramin Bank,a Parallel Education Centre named Galaxy College, A Photo Studio named FOTOMOTTO HI-TECH DIGITAL STUDIO and CROWN TAILORS (Mr sujith)are the main attraction of this Village.For any information about any person in kokkallur we can contact to CROWN TAILORS at any time.Cultural associations like Krishna Memorial Arts and Sports Club Chavittan para. Gramachethana Karallapoyil are serving the people in their jurisdictions. Nagatharakkandy Temple and Chirakkal Vishnu Temple are two main Hindu Worshipping Centres.

Famous School Saraswathy Vidya Mandir is situated just 2 km away from Balussery.
There are two government higher secondary schools located in heart of Balussery. Govt. Vocational Higher Secondary School and GHSS girls high school.
There is a pick up cetre of RCM(right concept marketing).It is working in 1st floor of RM complex near CHAMUNDASWARY TEMPLE.

Transport

The nearest railway station Quilandy 17 km away.Calicut railway station is 25 km away from here.
State highway connecting Quilandy and Vazhikkadave passes through Balussery.
Politically it has a communist background.
There is an Employment exchange nearby Vaikundam street.
Ekarool to Iyyad national highway passes through Valliyoth.
