He recently revealed that he is voting for Barack Obama in the 2008 United States presidential election.[6]
Career
As a child, Bleu modeled for clients such as Target, Toys R Us and Tommy Hilfiger. In 1996, his family relocated to Los Angeles and he soon gained a returning role on the TV series High Incident and a guest star appearance on ER. Bleu also had small roles in films such as Soldier, Family Tree, Mystery Men and Galaxy Quest before he landed a lead role the 2004 film, Catch That Kid. In 2006, Bleu had a supporting role as "Chad" in High School Musical, the immensely popular Emmy award-winning Disney Channel Original Movie. Bleu also guest starred in the premiere episode of Disney's Hannah Montana. Bleu's next film, Jump In! co-starring actress and R&B vocalist Keke Palmer as well as Bleu's father David Reivers, premiered on January 12, 2007 and has since become one of the highest rated Disney Channel Original Movies.[citation needed]
Music
2006-Solo career: Another Side
Bleu pursued a singing career. He signed a deal with Hollywood Records, a Disney owned label. His debut album, Another Side, was released May, 2007. A music video for his first single "Push It to the Limit" premiered on Disney Channel. The song was used to promote Jump In! a Disney Channel Original Movie in which Bleu starred in. "Push It to the Limit" reached Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 peaking at #15. Bleu toured with fellow HSM cast members from late November 2006 - late January 2007 in High School Musical: The Concert performing at about 40 different cities. To promote his debut album, Bleu performed at the NextFest tour 2007 along with Aly & AJ, Drake Bell, and Bianca Ryan.
2008-present: Second studio album
In a recent interview Billboard, Bleu stated that he begun working on his follow-up album. Bleu told Billboard, "There will be a lot of differences with the second album," Bleu says, "First of all, it's just more personal. I'm involved in every aspect of the writing. As far as the direction of the music, it's very different. I wanted this album to have something that was a little bit of rock, a little bit of R&B and a little bit of pop." Producer Eric Hudson is attached to the majority of the project, along with songwriter/lyricist Claude Kelly. Bleu performed unreleased tracks like "Close", "Whatever It Takes", and "Champion" on a summer concert tour with singer/actor Justin Stein. The tracks are set to be in the album. The untitled album is due out in February 2009 via Hollywood Records.[7]
