== Copyright Infringement Mix-Up ==

I am an '''employee''' for '''award winning, world renown, celebrity, fashion, and beauty photographer''' Kenneth Willardt. The text that was placed in the article is the text that he wrote, approved, and would like to have on your site. I was wondering how it's copyright infringement if he himself wrote it? I understand you might have pulled it because of the similarity to the one on his website's biography, but since he, Kenneth Willardt, wrote it and wanted it to be on wikipedia, how is it infringing upon a copyright he owns? A copyright protects a persons right to their property, but since the bio is his property and he wants to put it on wikipedia it should not have been pulled. How can I go about reposting the article and getting it to stay online?

Thanks for swinging by and please keep it civil. I reserve the right to delete any and all unwelcome comments which sometimes accompany administrative action and will remain in the edit history anyway.

If you have a concern regarding an administrative action, please feel free to let me know in a polite manner. If I'm in error, I'll gladly reverse the mistake.

Deletion of 'Affliction' page

I've recently created (and subsequently had deleted) a page on a band named affliction. I was just wondering why the page i created had been deleted.I suppose as an arguement for my case, another band page, afflicted contains a lot less detail. Please excuse me if this seems uncivil, i'm not really sure how to word it. Thanks for reading and hopefully responding. TheKahuna90 (talk) 02:37, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Philippine TV vandal

I've gone to AIV to ask for 122.54.242.47 to be blocked with no avail. Can you help block this guy or protect some of the articles? HkCaGu (talk) 06:21, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Other admins don't comprehend and I don't have time to write up a case. I just know this guy just turn Hong Kong TV shows into Filipino ones and vice versa, plus other unsourced edits about the Philippines (which I'm not familiar with). Too often his/her IP gets blocked for 1-3 days and he/she returns right after. If each time his/her IP gets a couple weeks, he/she is going to run out of IPs and it's going to be a real discouragement for further vandalism. HkCaGu (talk) 06:30, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He/she reappeared at Special:Contributions/122.54.244.52. HkCaGu (talk) 17:16, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He/she is now active at Special:Contributions/122.54.243.203. Can you put a stop there please? HkCaGu (talk) 03:19, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! HkCaGu (talk) 03:27, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Reach for the Stars" game show

In case if you don't remember, that game show was produced by Merv Griffin Productions back then. So that game show is currently owned by Sony Pictures Television due to the fact that Merv Griffin sold Merv Griffin Enterprises to Columbia Pictures Television in 1986. Princess Waltz

I don't agree that my article breached any copyrighted material, I tried editing most articles but was hard pressed for time. Simply deleting the whole article instead of removing the parts which were copied seems a bit counter productive to me. Took me almost two hours to find the right "moonspeak" for the characters names. Having it all thrown out the window now means I have to sit through another grueling hour of copying moonspeak. Or maybe there some way for me to access my article and reedit it so I don't have to work from scratch? Also -- the help pages are crap. There is to much information non of which is easily accessed unless you have already been using the pages for some time.

Why did you delete the Ghoul page for the australian band

sorry, im up in arms about this deletion. it is a genuine band with genuine members... why did you delete it?

Thank you for the Princess Waltz information

I would like to thank you for your quick reply and resourcefulness. To be honest I am totally new at writing at Wikipedia. It is easy to make mistakes especially when it comes to the legal problems. You see to be very familiar with Wikipedia -- can you explain a bit more about the picture copyright issues? For instance, how do you add to special "tags" to pictures (it was mentioned in the legal issues) I was also wondering, exactly how far can one go when posting a picture? Editing a copyrighted picture is very easy, but from say a game then wouldn't all pictures from said game be copyrighted? wouldn't editing a picture bee seen as violating art? (or something?) So, say I get permission from Peach Princess -- how do I confirm this proof if say the permission was given in an email? (I haven't received any such permission, just asking for future clarification.)

ah sorry... I am asking you a bunch of questions offering nothing in return... I'm sorry.

Pinkyman 3

Hi, you deleted a page on Oliver Goossens yesterday according to A7 - i.e. there was no stating of his significance. Is award winning poet from the british council not enough?

Don't Delete This Article

You don't have to delete the article GATE Corporation (Prison Break). If you want to delete this article, you must delete the article scylla (Prison Break) too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Levis93 (talkcontribs) 16:20, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand why you are going to delete this.

I don't understand why you are going to delete GATE Corporation (Prison Break). Whole descriptions of there are true, not fiction. You need to see S04E03 of Prison Break.

Deleted STORIS article

I am new to Wikipedia and would like additional detail on what I can do to improve my article. Thank you. STORIS (talk) 16:47, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article has been edited. Would you please let me know if further editing is needed? Thank you again! PHMwrite0109 (talk) 17:56, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your guidance. There are new notes indicating that the article still needs to be improved and/or may not meet guidelines. Do you have any suggestions? I appreciate your patience with a new user! :) PHMwrite0109 (talk) 18:16, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you delete entry

Can a word not exist outside of the norm??? A word that encapsulates 2 different issues and combines them into 1?

Have we all become that narrow minded that simply because a word has been used we don't understand has been defined it simply does not exsist???

if that is what happens please by all means delete my account as well I will not be part of a narrow-minded community. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bengel333 (talkcontribs) 16:50, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You deleted my entry for furneckular.. Yes there is no 'Standard definition' but my colleagues and I use the term daily and kind of get tired trying to explain what it means to others.

You called the entry (G1: Patent nonsense, meaningless, or incomprehensible) and deleted it without so much as a reason. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bengel333 (talkcontribs) 17:09, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I accept your reason for deletion. You may remove my account also. The policy page is very clear and I did not see it prior to opening the account. As I stated earlier, I will not be part of a narrow-minded community, I understand the belligerent entries that happen (probably hourly) but when the definition includes the logic behind the term I fail to see how it can be dismissed as 'Patent nonsense'. Yes I now realize that it should have been placed in Wiktionary but as the policy you showed stated it would have just been deleted there as well. I respectfully thank you for your time on this matter. Please delete my account. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bengel333 (talkcontribs) 17:30, 27 January 2009 (UTC) ping[reply]

Deleted Article - All that work gone?

Hey there,

I noticed that you deleted my article on the band Sleep Room. I saw it was tagged for deletion, and inserted a (hang on) as I looked to ammend it (according to the requirements), but then you deleted it in a matter of minutes! Didn't really give me a lot of time to ammend it!

Trouble is, the whole thing is gone, and I had no idea all that work would vanish - don't I at least get a copy to re-edit? Seems a triffle heavy handed just to vapourise a new user's first article while he edits it! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ryucoo (talkcontribs) 18:41, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've put the deleted content on your talk page. Ensure that the article meets the requirements at WP:BAND before you re-introduce it. –xeno (talk)

Hey there again,

Yeah - just spotted that, ta. And the WP:Band thingo. I believe my article about the band meets criteria 1 of "Criteria for musicians and ensembles". How do I go about 'proving' this? Do I provide links to the BBC and Josaka websites in an external links section (as I was beggining to do before the article was deleted, or is there another way I should be doing this?

Incidentally, does it matter if I am on personal terms with the band?

Ryucoo (talk) 19:05, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

(going to re-venue to your own talk page). –xeno (talk) 19:06, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What do I need to do to get Dangerbird (band) up and running?

Hello there! I was just wondering what I need to do to have my article 'Dangerbird (band)' fit for posting? Thanks so much for taking the time! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Matthewdead (talkcontribs) 00:45, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Patrick Ramos

I noticed that you deleted my bio for Patrick Ramos. I believe a bio for him is relevant as he is a co-lead singer and songwriter for the band +/- {plus/minus} and the drummer for Versus. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Amv70 (talkcontribs) 03:02, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

hey PMDrive1061

I thought Wikipedia was a page where everybody could contribute his knowledge and share it with others. As you already said, i wasn't intending to provide wrong information.

So what am i supposed to do now ? And what would you do if i continued changing wrong articles ?

Greetings. Seehund1992 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seehund92 (talkcontribs) 03:14, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey PMDrive1061

Thank you very much for your respect.

I use Wikipedia very often, people who change the text just to be funny are annoying me, of course, too.

You did a good job, keep on doing it. Thumbs up —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seehund92 (talkcontribs) 03:22, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey PMDrive1061

yes, i totally see your point.

but just telling other people to stop it might not always help, it's true that some people really disrespect wikipedia but others who don't might be a little pissed off in the end because they were just trying to help and they got yelled at.

what about making them proof somehow that their changes are true ? (if possible)

just a little tip ; ) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seehund92 (talkcontribs) 03:29, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey PMDrive1061

and by the way, if there is any help i could give you with the whole vandalism thing, let me know, i would be glad. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seehund92 (talkcontribs) 03:31, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How do I post a new page?

Hi, I am new to Wikipedia, I am trying to post a page about an icon on the PGA Tour. My page was deleted for copyright infringement... is this because I have the same text on my website? Is it still infringement if I wrote the text that's on my site?

Thank you.

Request for releasing an autoblock

A user called Willydick is caught behind an autoblock of Poverty tim, who you blocked for sockpuppetry. Given the nature of this block, I would like your opinion before deciding about the autoblock. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 06:55, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

On WP:AN you said the article was well-sourced, but I've found no evidence it ever was. Still, I think speedy or prod is not the way to go. He appears to have won multiple contests and while the current prod tag says we don't have articles on them, that's hardly a good case for a country that suffers systemic bias. It's probably better to put it on AFD and contact a relevant WikiProject for help. - Mgm|(talk) 09:37, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pandagames org

I'd encourage you in the future not to immediately block someone based upon a single instance of spamming. I'd propose a less bite-y approach of moving the article to their userpage, sugesting that they change usernames, and pointing then to the COI instructions. Your milage may vary.

I've unblocked Pandagames_org. (Any and all adminstrative actions performed by me are reversable without prior discussion unless otherwise stated, and this Cabal stamp: ♠ means that such reversal cannot be considered wheel warring in any court of law up to and including Trenton NJ.)

Redirect of Slum brothers

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Slum brothers, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Slum brothers is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Slum brothers, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Speedy deletion of Getdata

A tag has been placed on Getdata requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. Algebraist 03:54, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, uhm, why are you telling him this? All PM did was move it. Anyway, userfied now. (Note to self: Must stop talk page stalking everyone.) - brenneman 04:37, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Because TW doesn't work too well in this situation. Algebraist 04:40, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

BobbyCro

I stumbled upon BobbyCro (talk · contribs) when editing Reheated Cabbage. Is he a sock or not? He's not blocked but he's got an "I'm a sock" template at the top of his talk page. Also, Talk:Reheated Cabbage says that his edit was made by a sockpuppet of a banned user. If he's not a sockpuppet someone needs to clarify that so it doesn't haunt him later. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 04:38, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
