Fekry Pasha Abaza (1896 - 1979) was an Egyptian journalist and activist.

Life

Fekry Abaza was born in 1896 in the village of Kafr Abu Shehata in the East, Egypt.He is a member of Abaza Family. In 1917 he graduated from the School of Law and worked as lawyer. He later joined the National Democratic Party (Egypt) in 1921. He began his journalism career by writing for the newspaper Al-Maiied, and then for the newspaper Al-Ahram in 1919. Afterward, he served as an editor for the magazine Almosawer for two years before being promoted to editor in chief in 1926. He worked for the magazine until 1961. Between the time that he severed as editor in chief, he was elected as a syndicate chairman for journalism in 1944 for four consecutive election cycles.

- He occupied the position of chief editor of the monthly Egyptian "Al-Hilal" ( Crescent) for several years. In August 18, 1961 Egyptian government decided to relief him from his duties, and said that the exemption was made by President Gamal Abdel Nasser, as a result of a political article he allowed publishing.
- Was elected Honorary President of the Egyptian club Al Ahly months football club in Egypt.
- Was a member of the Supreme Council of the Egyptian National Library, and received an honorary doctorate degree from the Academy of Arts.
- Was a musical amateur master, with 100 thousand pieces of music and playing the flute and Almndulin.
- He wrote a number of stories, including "Khalaf El Habayeb " and "Aldahek Albaky" and "Ahadeeth Fekry Abaza".
- Died in Cairo in February 1979.
