== MilHist article for the Signpost? ==

Hi Takuya, I'm cautiously thinking about writing an article for the [[Wikipedia:Signpost]] later this year that highlights what I believe is WP's unique capacity to combine the first-hand memories of military participants MilHist with WP's standard scholastic features. I see that you subscribe to the newsletter, and wondered whether you had any ideas on such an article (you've been around here since 2002, no less, too).

I also noticed that you participated in an RFC late last year on date autoformatting, and wondered whether you knew that this issue is the subject of another RFC. There's even a temporary ArbCom injunction against the removal of the square brackets around dates. (Apparently it’s still OK to delink on an occasional basis, but caution may be the best approach for the moment.)

The injunction will be in force until the matter is finally resolved at a current RFC. You may wish to make your views known again, whatever your opinion now. It's open until Monday, I think.

Proposed deletion of Sōichi Aikawa

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Sōichi Aikawa, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Has been unsourced for 3 months, fails the sourcing requirement at WP:BLP. Note - the Japanese Wikipedia is not a reliable source

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. That's better. What is even better is to actually have an article on it, though. But I guess that requires experts. -- Taku (talk) 11:31, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
