The Edge is a magazine produced by the University of Southampton's Student Union that is the University's finest entertainment publication.[1] It also happens to be the University's only official entertainment magazine. It can be found inside the Wessex Scene, the University newspaper and is printed once every three weeks. The Edge reviews computer games, comedy shows, films, and music and is edited and written entirely by students. It remains editorially independent from the Wessex Scene and has so for its entire 14 year history. Every issue has a gig guide on the back page that provides information on entertainment in the local area. It has strong links with local events promoters and venues which allows the readers and writers of the Edge to receive cds and tickets to local events with no charge.

In 2009 the then editorial team introduced games, TV, and comedy sections to the Edge which was followed by a redesign of the whole publication.
