"Hannah Faulkner's" real name was Abagail Dane Faulkner. Since both she and her daughter, Abagail Faulkner, were arrested for witchcraft, the author of the book chose to refer to the mother as Hannah Faulkner to reduce confusion in the narrative. Although renaming her served its purpose of reducing confusion in the narrative, it has introduced confusion regarding her true name. |
