Note
  1. ^ Certain award groups do not simply award one winner. They recognize several different recipients, have runners-up, and have third place. Since this is a specific recognition and is different from losing an award, runner-up mentions are considered wins in this award tally. For simplification and to avoid errors, each award in this list has been presumed to have had a prior nomination.

Bruno Mars is an American singer-songwriter and record producer of Filipino and Puerto Rican descent. Before becoming a successful solo artist, Mars was an acknowledged music producer, who wrote lyrics for other artists such as Alexandra Burke, Travie McCoy, Adam Levine, Brandy, Sean Kingston, and Flo Rida.[1][2] He reached fame as a solo artist after being featured on and co-writing B.o.B's "Nothin' on You" and Travie McCoy's "Billionaire"; both songs peaked within the top ten of many charts worldwide.[3][4][5][6] Bruno Mars has released one EP and one studio album: It's Better If You Don't Understand (2010) and Doo-Wops & Hooligans (2010), respectively. His first EP failed to be successful only peaking on UK Album Chart at 97 and US Billboard 200 at 99. His debut album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, was released in late 2010 through Atlantic Records and debuted at number three on Billboard 200. To date the album has sold more than 1,217,100 copies and has been certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America in the US.The album has become one of the most successful albums of 2010 worldwide. It spawned the hit singles "Just the Way You Are", "Grenade" and "The Lazy Song".

Mars has received several nominations at the Billboard Music Awards; among these are Top Hot 100 Song, Top Pop Song and Top Streaming Song (Audio) for "Just the Way You Are", Top New Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist and Top Male Artist for "Himself". His work has also been recognized at the 2011 Grammy Awards, with the nomination for Record of the Year and Song of The Year for "Fuck You" produced by his team "The Smeezingtons", and "Just the Way You Are" receiving the award of Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
